Oak Donut release notes
1.0.2
Published to the Chrome Web Store on September 19, 2026.
Where captures are saved. No new permissions, and no change to how captures or your data are handled.
- New installations save to Downloads/Oak Donut.
- An installation updated from an earlier version that never chose a folder keeps saving to Downloads/Kapture IT, the folder it was already using, and asks once — in the popup and in Site Batch — whether to switch new captures to Downloads/Oak Donut, keep that folder, or use another. Nothing moves until you answer.
- A folder you chose yourself is kept as it is, and you are not asked.
1.0.1
Included in 1.0.2, which was published to the Chrome Web Store on September 19, 2026.
Two fixes to Site Batch. Nothing else changes: no new permissions, and no change to how captures or your data are handled.
- After Discover URLs finished, every page in the list stayed locked, so the selection could not be changed until Select all or Select none was used. The list now unlocks as soon as discovery ends.
- In some window sizes the Site Batch workspace scrolled sideways and Capture Selected URLs was cut off at the right edge. The buttons now move to a second row when they do not fit.
1.0.0 — The Great Rename
Included in 1.0.2, which was published to the Chrome Web Store on September 19, 2026.
Kapture IT is now Oak Donut, with a new camera logo and the familiar blue interface. It is still published by Kalidonis LLC.
- Existing users update their current extension. No second installation is needed.
- The familiar K toolbar icon stays until you first open the popup after the update. A small, dismissible notice introduces the new name, then disappears seven days after that first visit.
- Preferences, download locations and organization-license compatibility are preserved.
- Right-click a scrollable panel, dialog or embedded app and choose Capture this scrollable area. Pick an area, then capture it from the popup. Some embedded sites require additional access you choose to grant.
- Capture integrity reports now derive their results from the checks that actually ran. If required evidence is missing, the capture is refused.
- Product, support and trust pages live at
oakdonut.com. Earlier Kapture IT andkalidonis.com/oak-donutaddresses redirect here, and the Kapture IT release history is kept below.
This release includes the previously uncut 0.7.0 development work. Paid Pro remains Coming Soon and is not available for purchase.
Earlier Kapture IT releases
Oak Donut was published as Kapture IT until 1.0.0. These are its release notes as they were written at the time, under the name the product then had. Version links inside those releases, and older bookmarks, arrive here.
