Oak Donut Terms of Use
Effective and last updated: August 25, 2026 Published by Kalidonis LLC
Plain-language summary
Oak Donut is a browser tool that helps you capture webpages you are authorized to view. Webpages can be dynamic, protected, unusually large, or technically incompatible, so every output should be reviewed before it is relied upon. Automated verification and accessibility checks provide technical evidence and preflight information; they are not legal, compliance, or accuracy certifications.
1. Agreement to these Terms
These Terms of Use govern your use of the Oak Donut browser extension, Oak Donut website pages, downloads, documentation, and related support provided by Kalidonis LLC (collectively, “Oak Donut”). By installing or using Oak Donut, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use Oak Donut.
If you use Oak Donut for an organization, you represent that you are authorized to accept these Terms on that organization’s behalf.
2. Limited license
Subject to these Terms, Kalidonis LLC grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the published version of Oak Donut for its intended webpage-capture functions.
Oak Donut and its source code, design, branding, documentation, and related materials remain the property of Kalidonis LLC and its licensors. No right is granted to copy, redistribute, sell, sublicense, reverse engineer, bypass licensing controls, or create derivative products except where applicable law expressly permits it.
3. Authorized and acceptable use
You are responsible for the websites, accounts, and information you choose to capture. You agree that you will:
- capture only pages you are legally authorized to access and document;
- comply with applicable laws, contractual obligations, confidentiality duties, and website terms;
- protect screenshots containing personal, confidential, regulated, or proprietary information;
- avoid using Oak Donut to harass, deceive, surveil, infringe rights, evade access controls, or facilitate unlawful activity; and
- review downloaded files before distributing, publishing, archiving, or relying upon them.
Oak Donut does not grant permission to access a website, bypass authentication, reproduce third-party content, or disclose information. Your ability to view a page does not necessarily give you permission to copy or redistribute it.
4. Capture behavior and limitations
Oak Donut captures visible webpage pixels by scrolling the active page and assembling browser screenshots locally. Results can vary based on the browser, operating system, display scale, zoom, page design, authentication state, and content loaded at capture time.
Some pages may be unavailable or may produce incomplete or inconsistent results, including:
- browser-internal, extension-store, and other protected pages;
- pages with infinite scrolling, virtualization, several competing scroll regions, or continuously changing content;
- animated heroes, carousels, video, canvas, WebGL, embedded applications, and cross-origin frames;
- extremely wide or tall pages that exceed safe browser canvas limits; and
- pages that change, redirect, log out, or block browser capture during the process.
Oak Donut includes checks intended to detect certain blank, unstable, navigated, or changing captures, but no automated process can detect every problem. You remain responsible for visually reviewing the final output.
5. Verification records
A verification record or integrity fingerprint can help show that a file was produced by a particular Oak Donut capture operation and that its bytes match the recorded SHA-256 value. It does not establish that:
- the webpage content was true, complete, lawful, or unchanged before capture;
- every part of the source website was captured;
- the user was authorized to access or reproduce the content;
- the output is admissible evidence; or
- an independent third party certified the capture.
6. Accessibility preflight
Any WCAG-related result produced by Oak Donut is an automated preflight intended to assist manual review. It is not a WCAG conformance determination, accessibility certification, legal opinion, or guarantee that a webpage is accessible. Knowledgeable human evaluation remains necessary.
7. Local files and user security
Downloaded screenshots, PDFs, CSV files, and verification records are controlled by you after download. You are responsible for storage permissions, sharing, backups, synchronization, retention, deletion, and protection of those files.
Do not send sensitive screenshots to Kalidonis LLC for support unless they are necessary, appropriately redacted, and intentionally provided through an approved support channel.
8. Oak Donut Pro, subscriptions, and organization licenses
Oak Donut offers a supported Free plan and may offer paid Pro plans for individuals, teams, or organizations. The features, capture limits, managed-user band, subscription period, price, taxes, renewal terms, and any trial will be shown at or before checkout. Paid features, limits, pricing, and availability may change before a paid offering is publicly launched.
Paid subscriptions renew automatically for the period disclosed at checkout until canceled. Cancellation stops future renewal and ordinarily leaves access available through the paid period, unless access is suspended for fraud, chargeback, security, legal, or material Terms violations. Except where law requires otherwise or a written order states otherwise, fees already paid are non-refundable.
An organization license may be limited by a managed-user or employee band. The customer must purchase a band that covers the users or devices to which it deploys Pro and must provide accurate deployment counts upon reasonable request. Organization IDs, license keys, and signed entitlements may be used only by the purchasing organization and may not be shared, resold, published, or used to bypass the purchased limit.
Temporary network or billing-service interruptions may be covered by a signed offline grace period. Grace access is not an extension of the paid subscription. Pro access may return to Free when the subscription and grace period expire, a payment remains unpaid after applicable retries, or the license is revoked for a permitted reason.
Stripe may process checkout, renewal, invoice, tax, and payment-method information. A customer may manage eligible subscription functions through Stripe’s hosted Customer Portal. Separate purchase-order, invoice, support, security, data-processing, or service-level terms apply only when agreed in writing.
9. Third-party services
Your browser, browser-extension marketplace, operating system, device-management service, website provider, backup provider, and other services operate under their own terms and privacy practices. Kalidonis LLC does not control those third parties or the websites you capture.
10. Updates, availability, and support
Kalidonis LLC may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features; correct security or compatibility issues; and update these Terms. Support is provided on a reasonable-efforts basis unless a separate written agreement states otherwise. No uptime, response-time, compatibility, or release-date service level is promised for the free extension.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Oak Donut is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted operation, or error-free output. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so portions of this section may not apply to you.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kalidonis LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, business interruption, compliance costs, or decisions made from a capture.
Kalidonis LLC’s aggregate liability relating to the free version of Oak Donut will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars. For a future paid service, any different liability limit will be stated in the terms presented with that service. These limitations do not apply where prohibited by law.
13. Suspension and termination
Kalidonis LLC may suspend or terminate access to Oak Donut when reasonably necessary to address security, fraud, legal, platform-policy, or material Terms violations. You may stop using Oak Donut at any time by uninstalling the extension.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable consumer law requires otherwise.
15. Changes to these Terms
Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above. If a change requires affirmative consent, Kalidonis LLC will request it through an appropriate product or account flow.
16. Contact
Questions about these Terms may be submitted through the Kalidonis LLC contact page.
